Implementers, volunteers, partners and those connected with social goods, every year meet for a few days to talk, summarize and discuss news from the world on the Conference. Before COVID-19 they meet every year in a different country just to know people who are using OpenMRS on a daily basis. For sure that was a great experience to talk with those people, interact with them and get to know their experience from using the OMRS Platform.
OpenMRS Virtual Implementers Conference starts on Monday, 29th of November. Registration is still open so you can save your place here: https://openmrs.org/what-we-do/conference/registration/. If you want to support OpenMRS and their work, you can donate any amount of money so the costs of organizing the conference will be zero (or just near zero).
The schedule is also published here: https://openmrs.org/what-we-do/conference/conference-schedule/. For 4 days-long meetings are planned unconference sessions where everybody can propose their own topic and later the community will vote what to choose. There will be also time for Implementers Showcases. These are virtual trips to different clinics where OpenMRS is implemented. Owners show interviews with doctors, nurses and medical staff who describe their experience and how life-changing OpenMRS has become. Last year Implementer Showcase was held in Nepal, and it was very interesting, we even wrote about it here:
During Conference, Squad Showcases will be presenting their job, QA Support Team, FHIR Squad, Dictionary Manager Squad, Analytics Engine Squad, Microfronted Squad prepared a summary of their job and actions. Also, Website Rebuild Squad (that’s us! We’re building OpenMRS website) has prepared a small showcase of progress that we made in 2021. I can’t wait for that.
To show you how fun it was being at Implementers Conference, we have a few photos.
